Dear Friends,
I'm taking part in the Brooks Brighton 10 k run this coming Sunday, November 15, 2009 to raise money for Raynaud's & Scleroderma Association and I'd really appreciate your support.
Some of you may not know, but I lost a dear friend to this degenerative disease two years ago. My aim is to contribute to the charity to help them heighten awareness and try and find a cure for this deadly disease, I hope you can help.
JustGiving sends your donation straight to Raynaud's & Scleroderma Association and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you're a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more. I hope you'll join me in supporting Raynaud's & Scleroderma Association as I would really appreciate your support.
Scleroderma,is such a devastating condition. It’s like a cancerous worm that attacks and eats away at your body. In the case of my friend Evamaria, it started off as just hard skin and blue fingers but after a couple of years – affected all her organs. It can be painful, especially towards the end…
There is as yet, no cure for scleroderma.
Most people have never even heard of it.
5 years down the line, from her initial diagnosis, and having been moved to a hospice; the end came within a week!
She wasn’t even 50!!
Evamaria left behind 4 wonderful children, parents, siblings and a large extended family.
Your much appreciated support of the Scleroderma Association will go towards vital research towards finding a cure for this horrible illness.
Evamaria is at peace now. The pain is over.
You are in God's hands, my dearest friend.
We will miss you, always. Till we meet again.
With all my love,
Anne Marie Owens
