Event: Friends Of The Earth Trust - Big Green Bike Ride, on 6 May 2012
We find solutions to environmental problems to see a fair world for future generations

Story

Conclusion: I completed both stages (though suffered somewhat on the second day when a previous back problem re-emerged) so thank you to all my sponsors.

Originally:
On Sunday 6th and Monday 7th May 2012 I'll be riding my bike the 140 miles from London to Grantham in the initial two stages of the very first Big Green Bike Ride, and in support of Friends of the Earth.  Day 1 is London-Cambridge 65 miles, and Day 2 Cambridge-Grantham 75 miles.

I'd like to try and raise £1000.  I'll do my best to go the distance.  I've not ridden this far for 'quite some time' (OK -  a number of decades) so it will be an effort but in a good cause. As an extra bonus: for every £10 you give I’ll match it with £10 myself, and FOE will get not £1000 but £2000.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
