Story
I would like to pay my respects to the family and friends of the 6 soldiers that tragically lost their lives at 6.30pm on Tues the 6th of March 2012. The men - five of them aged between 19 and 21 - died when their Warrior armoured vehicle was blown up by a massive improvised explosive device (IED). Sergeant Nigel Coupe, 33, of 1st Battalion The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, Corporal Jake Hartley, 20, Private Anthony Frampton, 20, Private Christopher Kershaw, 19, Private Daniel Wade, 20, and Private Daniel Wilford, 21, all of 3rd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. I am a former member of the Armed Forces 3 Yorks and these men were not just colleagues of mine but close friends I am devastated by the loss of these good men. I cannot be out there with the lads but I want to show that my heart still follows their every move. I will start the run on the 6th of April and hope to complete the challenge within 10 days. This works out at 29miles a day!! I want to complete a challenge that would physically push me to the edge so I can share some of the pain the families must be feeling. Please give whatever you can to support my efforts I hope to do you all proud xx
