So I figured it was about time I dusted off the old arctic parka and did it all again but this time in a slightly colder and more dangerous environment in the name of science.

'Don't let out your inner vicar' a recent TV consultant told me. So I won't go on about how many environmental challenges we all face (well at least that's what I think she meant!), instead I'm going to put words into action and head off to the Churchill Northern Studies Centre in Canada to undertake a bit of ice crystal classification mixed up with some snowpack and temperature measurements. While I'm there braving temperatures around -50c and dodging Polar Bears, I thought I'd learn to knock up an igloo. Ahhh brings back those memories of living through the night wondering whether you'll suffocate from a collapsed roof of snow and ice. It warms the cockles of the heart :) I may even find a bit of time to play eye-spy in the snow woohoo!

If you do fancy reading up on the science you can do so here.

Better still if you fancy digging into your pocket for a few quid and supporting this expedition that would be great!
