My story
Brooke is six years old, she has Cerebral Palsy and is wheelchair bound.
There is a life changing operation called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) which would make Brooke’s life so much better for her. It’s a special operation for children with spasticity cerebral palsy. This operation has a reported 100% success rate in its 24 year history but it is only currently available in America and more recently Bristol, however not available on our NHS.
We had hoped with support and contribution to raise the sum of £40,000, the amount required for the operation to take place in Bristol, unfortunately after numerous trips and a vigorous physio assessments, Brooke was deemed unsuitable by the specialist in Bristol. Fortunately, however we now have renewed hope as we have applied directly to Dr Park and his team at St Louis, USA, and we are very pleased that they have accepted Brooke for the SDR treatment. Dr Park and his team are confident that the operation on Brooke will be successful.
The procedure will now go ahead in November, but as you can appreciate the amount we require has risen to £70,000 to get over to the United States, so we need your support more than ever to reach this target.
This amount will pay for her operation, pre operative and post operative care, physiotherapy and the equipment she will need afterwards.
It's heartbreaking when Brooke is left behind crying while all her sisters, brother and friends are running ahead or playing on playground equipment and Brooke just has to sit and watch.
Please help us change Brooke's life forever.
Thank you to the Tree of Hope Children’s Charity for all their help.

My updates 4
Merry Christmas everyone! We returned home last week from the USA & the 2 operations were a huge success & Brooke is getting on great although there is still a long way to go for us all. Our total money raised to date is £65,800. Let's give a final push in 2012 to get to 70K.
We have currently raised a total off £57.287.03, Brooke's operation has been successfully paid for & will go ahead on the 15th November. Thankyou so much to everyone who has got us this far, our daughters dream is so much closer now. We just need a final push to hit £70K. xx
As of today we are currently sitting on £22,833.02, we still have a number of pledged sponsorships to come in from March skydive and various events coming up this month so this figure will rise! Great work thank you everyone!
Brooke's justgiving page is standing at £6833.00 at the moment guys, which is awesome!!
