Story
I am taking part in the Bupa 10k run on May the 27th in London, in order to raise money for The Children’s Acute Transport Service (CATS) after hearing about the support and service they gave to Ben. My sister will be joining me in the run for support and also for CATS Charity.
I heard about CATS last year, when unfortunately close friends of mine lost their cousin Ben.
Ben was diagnosed with a Mitochondrial Disease on Friday 11th May and died 11 days later on 22nd May, three days before his first birthday.
The Children’s Acute Transport Service (CATS) was responsible for transporting Ben between hospitals, safely, securely and as comfortably as they could, in order for him to get the care he needed. Along with other charities such as 'Keech Children’s Hospice', CATS were incredible to Ben and his family throughout the equally painful and emotional journey that they had to go on.
I am fundraising for the charity in order to help fund them in ways the government cannot, but also to show support to every individual that works as part of CATS, immersing themselves into their jobs and supplying such an effective, passionate and impactful service.
