My Mum, Margaret, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 and is currently undergoing treatment including: surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. My Uncle Norman passed away in 2012 having bravely fought cancer for 7 years and my Aunt Carol passed away in 2011 having suffered cancer.

Historically cancer has blighted previous generations of my family and every penny raised hopefully will be one second closer to defeating this terrible disease.

I'm climbing Mont Blanc, Western Europe's highest mountain at 4,810 metres (15,780ft), between the 17th - 23rd July 2013. (I am also climbing Gran Paradiso, Italy's highest mountain (13,323ft.) prior to Mont Blanc to acclimatise). I will pay all my own expenses, travel, accommodation, etc. so that EVERY PENNY donated will go directly to Cancer Research UK.

Training started in October 2012........ those who don't know me will say, 'jeepers that's early', those who do know me will say, 'jeepers, too late'!
