Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page.

Bayley Joseph Cleaver was born on Tuesday 28th April 2009. Despite appearing healthy, Bayley suddenly died on the morning of 30th April 2009. With no obvious cause, the hospital conducted tests into his death and we have since found out that Bayley suffered from a rare disease called MCADD (Medium Chain acyl CoA Dehydrogenase Deficiency). This disease effects 1 in 10,000 births in the UK. It is an inherited condition through an altered gene passed on from both parents.

Bayley's little brother, Archie was born on 15th January 2011 and he has since also been diagnosed with MCADD. However through the support of an organisation called Climb (Children Living with Inherited Metabolic Diseases) and medical metabolic specialists we are now much more informed of the condition and how it can be managed.

Your donation will go to Climb. Climb are committed to fighting metabolic diseases through research, awareness and support. They are the UK's only dedicated organisation to provide information and support on all metabolic diseases to children, adults, families, carers and professionals. (www.climb.org.uk).

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
