Every two hours, someone in the UK will become paralysed. Globally, it is estimated that 15.4 million people are living with paralysis. At Spinal Research our vision is to create a world where paralysis can be cured, no matter when the injury occurred or where in the world.

Story

Hello all! Thank you for taking the time to come, and visit my just-giving page!!

This September I am doing a fun run through Hyde Park. For those of you who know me well, know that I am not naturally inclined to run anywhere, a brisk walk is usually my choice of speed - so although this is masquerading as "fun" I will be in pain at the end. I am using this run as an oppurtunity to not only squash my dislike for running, but also to raise money for what I believe to be a VERY worthy cause. A year ago someone very close to me was in a dreadful accident, and sustained an irreversible spinal chord injury which has changed his life forever. Thus all money I raise will be going to one of the UK's leading organizations specializing in spinal chord injury research. The spine is one of the only body parts which still baffles medical professionals, and researchers rely on the support of our community to learn more.

As an aside note, my very generous father has committed to matching whatever I raise, so when you think you're giving ten pounds, your actually giving twenty!! So...if you are in a position to give a donation, big or small, every penny will be help and every penny will be appreciated. Karma works in mysterious ways. Whatever you give will come back to you threefold :)

Thank you very much! And remember, I will sweat for every penny...and will post photos to prove it!

Cheers Bec xox
