My story
Thank you for visiting Team Xtreme’s fundraising page for the Belize Challenge 2006.
From the 5th until approximately the 23rd February we will be competing in the Belize Challenge. This is a competitive multi-discipline team expedition held in extreme conditions and split into five phases: in-country training & acclimatisation, kayak race, jungle navigation, jungle survival (5 days surviving with nothing but the shirt on our backs) and finished off with marathon length run out of the jungle.
Our team, Team Xtreme, consists of Jonathan Fairhurst,
Vicky Wallis , Hylton James and Jonathan Cook. Further details of the event and of our team, including individual profiles, can be found at http://www.belize-challenge.com/ or at http://hyltonjames.com.
We have all been training hard and are as ready as we can be and are now looking forward to the challenges this event will throw at us.
Any donation you make will really mean a lot to us and to Cancer Research.
We'll be in touch after the event to let you know how we got on but you will also be able to follow our progress online during the challenge at http://www.belize-challenge.com/ or later in the year on Trans World Sport.
“To many the jungle will seem predominantly hostile being full of deadly snakes, fevers and a host of half imagined nameless terrors. To others the jungle teams with wild animals, fish and tropical fruits which is equally misleading. The fact is the jungle is not prejudice, when you enter into the fringes you are in the most unique back yard in the world. Man or beast the jungle is a great leveller, a test not only to physical strengths but will search every depth the human soul has to offer.”
We would greatly appreciate your support by sponsoring us to complete this challenge which is being done in support of a worthy charity. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support. Wish us luck.
