Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
UNFORTUNATELY DUE TO THE WINTER BREAK MY JUMP HAS BEEN POSTPONED TILL THE 6th OF FEB 2010. ANYONE THAT WANTS TO COME AND WATCH YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME, AND THANKYOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR DONATIONS SO FAR, NOW WE HAVE A LITTLE MORE TIME TO RAISE SOME EXTRA!
As many of you know, sadly in June 2008 we lost our precious baby boy Seth to a cruel and very rare brain disease. In Seth's short life he spent a lot of time in hospital but when we knew that he didn't have much time left, we chose to bring him home so we could have precious time as a family and for Seth to be where he belonged. Seth had many needs, including constant medication, some of which we could administor but as time went on it was something we needed help with. He was fed through a gastrostomy tube which again we were able to cope with ourselves but gradually problems arose and again we needed help.
Without the Pepper team we would have had to take Seth back into hospital, this meant our family being split again at a time when we all needed to be together. Our Pepper nurse was a god send, without her at the other end of the phone day and night would have made things much harder than they already were. She would not only care for Seth and give him the attention he needed but was also there for us all to talk to and to answer any questions we had.
Until we needed The Pepper Foundation we were not aware of what a wonderful job they do. Helping to look after our very sick baby, supporting us as terrified and grieving parents and also making sure the needs of Bailey our eldest son were being met and giving us, his parents, the confidence to talk and help him through the tough times that lay ahead.
As Seth became more and more poorly our Pepper nurse became like a member of our family, day or night she would be there if we needed her. The care continued for Seth until the morning of the 16th June 2008 when he sadly passed away at home with us. Again our Pepper nurse was with us, speaking to all the relevant people and organising meetings etc with whoever we needed. She even went to the shops for us to get us a few things!
Throughout the days that followed Seth's death and the week of his funeral we had constant contact with our nurse. She attended his funearl and still gives us beavement support now, over 14 mths later. My wife has found her a huge comfort over the last year and she really has helped us all.
I am doing this skydive in memory of my beautiful son Seth but also to raise awareness of what The Pepper Foundation do and how much support they give to families like us.
