Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 9th June 2012 I was hit by a car and was rushed to the Walton Centre and was in a coma for 10 days and on a life support machine. I suffered a closed head injury, as well as broken jaw, shoulder as well as countless other injuries. Without the hospitals expertise and help I certainly wouldn't be here today.

During this time, my family were waiting and staying the hospital 24 hours a day. In the intensive care unit there is only a small family room which accommodates all families but, like my family, they also stayed within the hospital grounds awaiting news on their family members.

Without their help and them being there the entire time, I would not of recovered as well as I have done and continued my life in the way I have done since the accident. I have recently got married and this would not of been possible without the help and support of my family.

The reason for this fundraising event is to create a 'Home from Home' which is an accommodation facility for these family members to have a place to stay over night, to shower and change each day.

The Walton Centre is a world renown hospital with people all around the country receiving emergency treatment there. With this in mind, the 'Home from Home' scheme would enable family members to stay at the hospital as long as they need to be able to provide as much support as possible to their loved ones.

If you could please sponsor as much as you can to help the hospital raise as much money as they can to make this happen.
