This is my ongoing fundraising page which will help to raise much needed funds for the Yamaa Trust. This charity has one aim which is to end poverty in Mongolia.
Through running the Gobi Desert Challenge, a 144 mile footrace across the Mongolian desert, I raised £1000 for the Yamaa Trust. This money will fund the building of a new ger which will house 5 orphaned children. So your money can make a real difference to the people of Mongolia.
The Gobi Desert challenge has really fired me up to run other events. After completing the Jurassic Coast Challenge (3 marathons in 3 days along the Dorset Coast) in March 2010 i have now decided to compete in its sister event, the Pembroke Coast Challenge in November 2010. This is another 3 marathons in 3 days along some of the most testing coastline in the UK.
Next year I hope to rejoin the Sandbaggers operation (the organisers of the Gobi Challenge) to participate in the Eagle Isle Ultra (another 3 day event) and the Indo Ultra (a 6 day Ultra event in Indonesia).
I will off course keep you posted of my new events via my blog which is http://gobiben.spaces.live.com. Also check out the Sandbaggers website at www.sand-baggers.co.uk. Perhaps you may like to join me on one of my challenges!
