Hello and thank you for visiting my page,

Through my work, I have been given the great opportunity to go and work in Mumbai, India. I will probably have the chance to work in great conditions and have an extraordinary time discovering this great country.

However, we should never forget that besides the immense wealth that has been accumulated through the impressive growth of the last decades, there is still an accabling poverty that dominates the country, and many children are not given the chance to improve their social status through basic education.

As I am moving to India, I would like to raise awareness of this lack of access to basic education, and hope to make a little contribution to give more children access to education that may help them to improve their life and their environment.

India is currently facing one of the worst educational crises in the world - 30% of India is illiterate.

Classrooms are understaffed (1 in 4 teachers will be absent on any given day)

Teachers could be more engaged (Only 50% are likely to be teaching at any given time)

Drop-out rate is unusually high (More than 1 in 3 children who begin primary school will drop out before reaching 5th grade)

Education spend is relatively low (India spends only 3.3 percent of its GDP on education, compared to an average 5.8 percent in developed countries)

To raise funds for Akanksha frm the UK, I am donating to KINOE. Kinoe transfers over 80% for Akanksha school project, and the rest will be raised for a school in Nepal. They ensured me of their transparency and effiency.

Thank you for contributing to this important cause.
