Myself and my wife have just been notified that we have been lucky enough to get places on next years London Marathon!!
Briefly, on the 2nd October 08 my daughter, Rebecca who at the time was 8yrs old, under took a Bone Marrow Transplant due to an undiagnosed immune deficiency and without this treatment would not have survived. She had been on the transplant list since she was 18months old when the illness first came to light and when at the same time her brother Aaron who then was 4yrs old passed away due to the same illness. My eldest son who is now 15 yrs old does not have this illness but has been through a terrible time.
Since this time the Consultants and Staff on Ward 23 of the Newcastle General Hospital and have been constantly treating and caring for Rebecca. The Bubble Foundation worked hand in hand with the Hospital in supporting Bex and our selves. With out this help Rebeccas treatment and stay in hospital would have beem a lot more unconfortable and arduous than it was.
Rebecca is now a year post transplant and getting healthier by the day she will be celebrating her 10th birthday on 2 February!!!
We cant thank The Bubble Foundation enough for helping to give our daughter a new lease of life.
There are families at the moment going through similar situations and heartache - without the help and support of your kind donations, however small, The Bubble Foundation would not be able to give children a new lleae of life and we would not be in the situation we are in today.
