My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have chosen to run for Beat Bullying because they do a lot of work with children who have been or are currently being bullied. On a personal note I was bullied at school and at college as well to the point where I was afraid to go to in, so I have experienced some of the effects bullying has and I think that this charity is doing fantastic work with people who have been affected by bullying.

Bullying is also a very underrated problem mainly because people are too afraid to tell someone that they are being bullied, I was. What this charity does is it not only raises awareness of bullying, but it also provides victims of bullying a safe haven where they can talk about their experiences of bullying in a confidential, non - judgemental place.

Beat Bullying also works with people who are bullying as well and tells them the consequences their actions are having and where possible tries to prevent bullying from happening in the first place by empowering young people to hold anti - bully campaigns in their schools or local communities. Recent figures from the UK Government show that 1 in 3 young people are currently being bullied at the moment. It's not right and with help this can change.
