Thank you for visiting the Spitfire Appeal donation page. We need your help in creating a fantastic new gallery celebrating aviation in Birmingham! If you are passionate about local heritage and engineering here is your chance to be part of something special.

Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum has two magnificent war-time aircraft, belonging to the city, on display: the Super marine Spitfire Mark IX and the Hawker Hurricane Mark IV. Our new gallery will explore Birmingham's role in the manufacture of Spitfires and Hurricanes, and the legacy that they left on our city

Discover the science behind aviation! What keeps a plane in the air? How are the parts manufactured? What is the modern aviation industry like today? We hope to answer all of these questions and more.

Help us to tell the story of these planes and the people who made them. This gallery will be a true testament to the role Birmingham and her people played in shaping history. We can't wait to share it with you!

So, we still have 22% of the target to raise! Every pound is a step closer to building a fantastic tribute to the Spitfire and Hurricane airplanes, and to the men and women of our region that built them. Every pound helps.
