From Sandra Reeve and Alison Sill. Thanks for visiting our fundraising page and to everyone who joined us for a brilliant day and walk around the Blackwater Estuary. Sandra’s son, Tim, sadly died of leukaemia in December 2005 after a 3 year battle with the cancer. September 20 would have been his 26th birthday and it was a special day for the family made even more special by the wonderful support. The weather was fantastic and everyone seemed to enjoy the walk despite some sore legs and blistered feet. There's even talk of it becoming an annual event. Blood cancers can affect anyone at any age and represent the most common form of cancer in people under 30. Tremendous advances in the treatment of childhood leukaemia have not been possible so far with older teenage and young adult sufferers. We are working closely with the Leukaemia Research Fund to raise money to support research to improve the treatment, care and survival of these young people.
Your support means that more young adults with blood cancers will be able to go on and make their dreams come true. So, please, be as generous as you can.You can find out more about the walk at www.thetimreevecharitabletrust.org.uk Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Leukaemia Research gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us now!
