My story

Greetings! Thank you for dropping by the help support 'Blog it for Babies'.

From 29th April - 4th May I will be travelling around England meeting groups of bloggers, vloggers and their friends and family who'll be holding mini-events to raise awareness and money for Build it for Babies.

In Bangladesh, 1 child in 19 will not live to see their 5th birthday. We want to support Save The Children to change that.

In each of the seven Health Centres that Save The Children need to build will be delivery rooms. All money from Blog it for Babies  will be used to buy items from the list below. We thought it would be lovely to be able to let people know exactly what the money they have raised will buy.

Baby resuscitation kit  - £29 can buy a baby resuscitation kit to deliver vital oxygen to babies born with breathing difficulties

Delivery Kit - £49 can buy a delivery kit - a complete set of equipment for delivering babies safely.

This kit contains: cutting needle, round needle @50p; rubber catheter @ £1; gally pot, tooth dissection forceps @ £2; kidney tray £3; scissors, mosquito artery forceps @ £4; needle bolder @ £5; speculum, forceps @ £6; sponge holding forceps @ £7; foetoscope @ £9

Large instrument tray - £15 can buy a large stainless steel instrument tray to keep medical instruments such as forceps and syringes, hygienic and germ free

Spotlight – £8 can buy a spotlight to light up a room and help our health workers do their vital jobs safely

Saline Stand - £16 can buy a saline stand to house the saltwater solution used to sterilise wounds and replace vital fluids after vomiting or diarrhoea

Delivery Table - £75 can buy a delivery bed so that every mother can be as comfortable as possible during labour

Screen – £62 can buy a hospital screen to give mothers and children the privacy they need to relax and feel comfortable whilst they’re at the clinic

Pack of 10 surgical gowns – £20

Skilled birth attendant - £150 could pay for a skilled birth attendant for a month, a vital part of the team to ensure babies are delivered safely

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
