My story
In Febuary 2010 my 3 year old son Sam was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma (a rare childhood cancer), 16 months on and he is still on chemo every day but deals with it like it's a walk in the park!
We heard about Amy's Retreat charity while we were in hospital, we were told that they offered holidays to Centre Parcs for children living with cancer and thier families . The next thing i knew a holiday had been booked for us and and we had a wonderful weekend away in Nottinghams Sherwood Forest. Nothing was too much trouble. It came at a time when Sam, his Dad and I needed a break more than ever, and for that i can't thanks Amy's Retreat enough.
This is where i got my inspiration from for organising the 10 hour bootcamp marathon!
My friends and i signed up for bootcamp fitness sessions in March this year with the BEST Bootcamp. I never thought we would last this long! But here we are arranging a 10 hour bootcamp Marathon.
What are we doing?
90 people will be taking part in the marathon, which will be over the course of 10 hours. There will be 3 courses, one military style, one fun and one team event. This will be followed by an evening disco, presentation and auction.
This is the first i time i have ever organised an event like this, so i really appreciate all the help and support from the BEST Bootcamp, Amy's Retreat, Hillsborough Arena, the volunteers and not forgetting the 90 wonderful people who will sign up to do this. For this reason please please please donate as little or as much as you can. Every penny counts.
