Story

Final Update - 25/5/10

Well my marathon challenge is complete.  The Edinburgh marathon was tough, partly due to the extreme heat but mainly due to a leg injury picked up at mile 17.  The last 9 miles were walk/hobble-run/stop (repeat) and I finished in 4hrs 6mins.   I was happy just to finish and had a brilliant weekend up their with Karen.

I will be contacting everyone to convey my thanks, but I would like to say here how much I appreciate everyone's support and donations.  Thanks!

Update - 30/4/10

Well I've completed half of the challenge.  I came home in 3hrs 41mins which I was delighted, shocked and exhausted by! It was a great day and I beat last year's time by 49 minutes!

You can visit http://web.me.com/borntoplod/J/Welcome.html for full details of the race itself but I'd like to thank you here for all the donations, support and encouragement!

Edinburgh is now fast approaching!

Jason

Hello!  And thanks for visiting my page.

Having run last year's London Marathon, I'm now attempting the 2010 London Marathon (25th April) and Edinburgh Marathon (23rd May).

In addition to my personal running goals, my main aim for doing this challenge is to raise money for The Salvation Army.

As well as being a Christian church, The Salvation Army is a registered charity and carries out a variety of work across over 100 countries worldwide.   The money you give will go straight to local community projects run by my church in New Addington and international aid work in countries like devastated Haiti.

For full details of what I'm up to or for more details about The Salvation Army in New Addington, you can email me at borntoplod@me.com.   As for your donations, I will be extremely grateful for anything you can give.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thanks,  Jason
