My story
Cristina and I decided to participate in this event (http://www.vatternrundan.se/) last September, for different personal reasons, but we shared the same goal of helping "to save the world".
We are doing this by asking you to sponsor us, "the Vatternrundan Brazilian Team". How? Easy! Giving money to our beneficiary charity - Action for Brazil’s Children Trust We are raising money for ABC Trust that is dedicated to helping the street children and most vulnerable young people of Brazil. By raising awareness and funding they support the work of local, community-led organisations which give children the education, support and inspiration that they need to transform their own lives. See ABC Trust site for a list of projects they support (http://www.abc-trust.co.uk/) We believe they have the potential to make some children’s future one of hope, rather than despair. --- Vatternrundan é considerada a maior corrida recreativa do mundo. Será no dia 16 de junho de 2012, no "ameno" verão sueco. Recreativa? 300 Km em menos de 28 horas... Não vai ser! Vai ser um desafio para nós, uma superação nos últimos 100 km. Mas nada que se compare às dificuldades enfrentadas por muitas de nossas crianças e jovens. A logística de realizar o evento e terminá-lo vai ser hercúlea para nós, atletas de terceira idade (sorry Cris! :-)) de academia. Esforçadas, dedicadas e com muita garra, estamos contentes treinando para o desafio e será com extrema alegria que cruzaremos a linha de chegada. Gostaríamos de compartilhar essa alegria com vocês e convidá-los a dar um pouco dessa alegria a crianças e jovens necessitados. Como? Com uma pequena contribuição, de qualquer valor.
