Thanks for taking the time to visit the JustGiving page in memory of Brian Blackburn.
As I'm sure you're all aware Brian was given the life changing news in June 2010 that he had pancreatic cancer and that unfortunately there was no treatment available that could cure the disease.
Brian bravely accepted the change to his lifes plan and decided to set himself short term goals he wanted to live to see and be part of. These included taking part in the Cancer Reaserch Relay for Life, enjoying the long school summer holiday with his two beautiful daughters Kathryn and Jennifer and throwing a splendid party in celebration of spending 25 wonderful years with his soulmate and wife Glynda.
It was with joy and his usual cheery outlook that Brian celebrated his 45th Birthday and Christmas which followed shortly afterwards. Those of you following him on Facebook will know how much he was looking forward to the trip to London, just after Christmas, which he had booked with Glynda and the girls to see his favourite musical "Wicked". Another of his goals achieved.
Sadly, it was just two short days after returning from that trip he was taken into St Clare's Hospice where he recieved wonderful nursing care to see him through his final days.
Brian's funeral will take place on Saturday 15th January at 9.45am at Whitburn Parish Church. The Blackburn family have requested family flowers only and are inviting friends who wish to remember Brian to make a donation to St Clare's Hospice.
