My beautiful 3 year old daughter Brooke was diagnosed with leukaemia on 16th September 2011. We took her to the doctors to have some minor bruising to her legs looked at and less than 24hrs later we were in Leeds General Infirmary with a diagnosis and preparing to start chemo. Candle Lighters are a locally run charity that support children and their families at the LGI and in Yorkshire suffering with Cancer. They pay for a playroom on the children’s oncology ward at the LGI, staff to run it, the dinner ladies, nurses etc. However, it is not open all the time because the government will not fund it and Candle Lighters only have limited resources. Please help us to try and repay some of the kindness and support that the charity has shown to us by digging deep and donating what you can.
