  2. The charity information is much more prominent, highlighting the cause you’re supporting.
  3. The new gallery makes it easier to see the images and video.
  4. Dedicated sections show the teams and companies you’re part of, emphasising the fundraising community you belong to.

My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page, set up to raise money for the charity that Ozge Karabiyik held closest to her heart: Macmillan Cancer Support.

Ozge was on holiday in Kovalam, India - a place she adored and had visited for 7 years running every winter to practice yoga and receive ayurveda treatment - when she fainted on December 30th 2011 and sustained a critical head injury as her head hit a concrete floor. Her boyfriend Marcus Sorensen was with her as she fell into a coma. Due to the tragically unrecoverable injuries, she passed away on January 2nd 2012 after being on life support for 3 days. During her last days before her faint, she was surrounded by friends and was profoundly happy, doing exactly what she wanted in a place that she loved. She was 34 years old.

Her older brother died of cancer at the age of 24 after long-term illness, and this impacted her deeply as she had grown up caring for him. She worked for the NHS in the UK and trained to be a Yoga teacher, and did a further course in Yoga for people living with cancer. She raised money for Macmillan in various ways, including once through sponsorships for shaving off all her beautiful curly brown hair.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please donate to honour Ozge's life, and continue making a difference to people living with cancer, just as she wished to do.

Her personal blog is at www.BubbleOfHappiness.com, where you can read some of her musings from the last year of her life.

A book of her recipes for making others and herself happy, alongside her photography, is available here: www.lulu.com/product/paperback/with-love-and-laughter-these-bubbles-are-blown-to/18837793

All profits from book sales go to Macmillan.

A recording of a memorial service held for her at the Barbara Brennan School of Healing (Europe) is available here:
