Story
Whoowhoo we did it and surprisingly really enjoyed it. Didn't hit "the wall" at all so as yet no trainers in the Tyne. But don't read anything into that!!!!!!
Lynne and I finished in 2hrs 32mins, Meg and Ryan 2hrs 18mins and Ali 2hrs 40mins - a superb achievement as it's her first run of any description - go Ali go!!!!
Many thanks to all our supporters - watch out for an update on final amount raised.
Thanks once again.
In 2005 I threatened to throw my trainers in the Tyne after running my first half marathon, the Great North Run (age 48). If only I had. Now I have a mountain to climb just to complete it again. And the trainers are definately going in the Tyne this time !!!!
This year I'm running with Meg, my daughter & a great running partner, and my friend Lynne Barton, the girl who got me into this in first place (thanx Lynne)!! Meg makes me feel old and decepit, she hardly breaks into a sweat but what the heck. Lynne is my encouragement to keep running when the going gets tough. They are my inspiration, we are a great team.
Why Rosemere? Last time it was a just another worthwhile cause. Since then I have been there and seen the fabulous work they do, in such a relaxed atmosphere. It is amazing. Any support we can give is very valuable.
Please sponsor me .. hey - it might be painful for you, it's me who's got to do the 13.1 miles!!!
Thank you so much
Cathy
