Story

Hi

I/We are at it again!

and we need your help.

I still suffer from Parkinson's (no change there really).  But I noticed that I have not completed another 'challenge' since 2013!!! So along with 3 other compatriots, whom I've co-erced, we intend to emulate Jerome K Jeromes epic trip 'Three Men in a Boat' by navigating the treacherous waters of the River Thames, from Kingston to Oxford, in an hundred and twenty year old open skiff!!!  92 odd miles in 7 days.

This trip has been dear to my heart for over 30 years.  So before my physical abilities dwindle and whilst I can I thought I'd better do it now; and of course do it for a good cause at the same time.

I would like to raise £500 for each of two of my 'favorite' charities (The reasons are long and arduous and I will relate them to you at another time).

They are The Colonel's Fund Grenadier Guards.  Donations for which can be made on this website.

and Save the Rhino.  For which you need to go to

uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/CAPTAINGONZO

With under 3 weeks to clear the decks, prepare the team, plan the trip and practice on the oars, I've a lot to do.  Oh! and also to try and raise at least a bit of money too.

This is where you come in.  At least you have read this far.  All you have to do now is donate.

When I took up the Wellington to Waterloo Cycle Ride last year in aid of the Colonel's Fund.  I raised over £3,000 in just over 2 weeks.  With your help I/We/You could help do the same.

With the sad demise of Robin Williams it would be easy for me to play the 'Parkinson's Card'.  But the sad truth is that many of my comrades in arms are suffering now after having given their services to their country (and at the current rate of loss ALL african rhino's will have been poached by 2024).

So why donate.

Because I care and I'm sure you do to.

Many thanks...

...and very very sincerely.
