A few months ago I watched a programme about THE GREAT SWIM and I just thought this was a perfect opportunity to raise money for Cancer Research UK - sadly we all know someone that has been affected directly or indirectly by cancer.

I cannot tell you all how disappointed I was at the news that the Great Scottish Swim had been cancelled.  Having spent many months training, and now raised over £1,000 in sponsorship money, I felt I owed it to you all to complete my challenge.  I therefore decided to run the gauntlet of jellyfish and tides and have completed my one mile swim in the sea at Maidens. 

All money raised will be donated to Butterfly Events, an Ayrshire charity raising money for Cancer Research UK.  It's a brilliant charity that organises fun, exciting events for everyday people whilst raising much needed funds and highlighting the importance of cancer awareness. 

I'm very proud and excited to have undertaken this challenge and I hope you share my enthusiasm by giving generously.
