Story
Every day, 10 children and young people in the UK hear the shocking news they have cancer. CLIC Sargent provides clinical, practical and emotional support to help them cope with cancer and get the most out of life.
CLIC Sargent’s Big Bucket Collection is held every December as part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, which highlights the impact of childhood cancer on families across the UK.
Thousands of volunteers will give a little time to collect at venues across the UK, aiming to raise £200,000 to help young cancer patients and their families.
But if you can’t take part in a collection, don’t worry… you can still donate to our Virtual Big Bucket Collection online today!
We are aiming to raise £1,000 online this December, which could pay for 1 family to stay for a month at one of our CLIC Sargent Homes from Home, providing free self-catering accommodation near to specialist children’s cancer treatment centres, which are often many miles from a family’s own home. Staying in a Home from Home ensures a family can be close to their child during treatment. The atmosphere in a Home from Home is friendly and welcoming. If they are well enough, the child or young person can stay there too.
