CSC has supported St Catherine’s over the years and the UK Site Champion Team in Preston have decided to make St Catherine’s their Local Charity of choice for 2011.  Through our engagement with the CSC Staff on site we have become aware of how many people have been touched by the charity through their families, friends and some individual personal life events.  This makes this particular charity close to lots of people’s hearts.

St. Catherine's Hospice provides specialist palliative care for the people of Chorley, Preston, Longridge and South Ribble. Care includes specialist community nurses, day care, in-patient care, family support, lymphoedema, complementary therapies. The hospice has been running for 25 years and the aim is to build on the current legacy and to extend the benefits of specialist palliative care to a wider range of patient groups. The hospice is dependent upon the goodwill and generosity of the local population in a number of ways, and a big chunk comes from the events St Catherine’s organises within the communities, supported by volunteers and local businesses.
