Hi Everyone,
Well many of you will have read my Facebook group and already know what this is all about.....My Auntie Angela was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and in May had a radical Mastectomy. Angela was treated on the brand new Ward 75 - Breast Cancer Care ward at Leeds General Infirmary, The ward was so new that Angela was discharged on 3rd June 2009 and Ronan Keating opened the ward on 6th June so poor Auntie Angie missed him!!! All joking aside though this ward is fantastic, the care and support it offers in peoples time of need is second to none, but its needs more fund-raising.
There are many things that this ward still needs and as of yet has not raised the funds to be able to afford them, many of these things are just to make the place a more comfortable environment for the patients and their visitors...Most of us know someone that will be affected by Breast Cancer at some point in their lives, this is a sad but unavoidable truth and we should be doing all we can to help them be treated and recover.
I am very grateful to say that Angela is doing remarkably well on the road to recovery and I am proud to say SHE is the driving force behind all this fundraising....
