Hi everyone,
I am running my second marathon in a few weeks in memory of my Grandad. This summer my 97 (very mobile and aware) year old Grandad underwent experimental heart surgery (he wanted to continue living in his own home and decided to give the surgery 'a go'). Sadly for us, he didn't make it through the recovery (he did make it through the surgery). Thankfully, the Doctors learnt a lot, so that many more Grandad/Grandmas, Mum/Dads, Brothers, Sisters etc can continue to live healthy lives.
I am meeting all the expenses of travel, entry and 'apparel' myself.
I hope that you will contribute just a few pounds. I know in these economic times, a few pounds is hard to come by, as an alternative, in the spirit of healthy living, join me on 8 November for a 'virtual run'. Put your trainers on and walk/ cycle/run around the block/round the park/up the hill and think of how much better you will feel - hopefully it will be the start of a new life - at the same time you can grin and wonder 'why' I would be posessed to run for 42.2km!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
