My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

For 2012, I have picked a charity which provides services to disabled people.

Since I moved to Warrington, I have been volunteering at The Village Cafe where employment training opportunity is available for mental health patients.

By working there for almost a year, I have seen many different sides of these people. They are just like any of us. They try to live a normal life, work extremely hard at all time and make the best of everyday. I admire their strength to keep going, battling so much more than our everyday life. Some of them have family, young ones, dispite what is happening to themselves, they are still trying to do the best for their family.

All they need is just that extra bit of help from us, to provide that extra support /service to help them through. A lot of them after training find full time employment, some recover from their illness and come out of the other end of the tunnel. Their smiles are beautiful!

The fund raised will go towards the annual North West Disability Awareness Day (DAD) held in Warrington which attracting around 28,000 visitors from across the UK and Europe. The event helps the general public to be more aware of the illnesses, it also provides information and help to those who need it. I went last year and the scale was massive!!! It was held in Walton Hall, check out their website to see the size of it!

To help them achieve their goal in 2012, I will be doing 66 lengths (1miles) of scuba diving none stop. It is hardwork doing 30 lengths.... this time twice as much...... But it is for a good course, I will try my best!

The Scuba Challenge will be held on Saturday 25th February from 5.30pm to 8pm at Woolston Leisure Centre in Warrington.
