My Mum and I, are walking from Hinckley to Leicester (14.9 miles) on Friday 11th December 2009, in fancy dress!, to raise money for The Laura Centre.

The Laura Centre is a charity based in Leicester which provides free confidential counselling, support and advice to parents who have suffered the death of a child.

There are 2 reasons I am raising money for this charity.....

1.) - My younger Brother died 23yrs ago, at the time there was very little support available to either of my parents, and as a result, we struggled to deal with this tragedy as a family. My Mum has recently been in touch with The Laura Centre, and despite 23yrs having passed, they are still able to offer my Mum counselling and support.

2) - Each year my employer, Leics Probation Service, nominates a charity, this year our nominated charity is The Laura Centre. We raise money in various ways, through events, team events, and as individuals.

So there are my reasons.....

My Mum is walking with me for moral support, in memory of my Brother, and to raise money.
