My little man in the pictures above was born in august 2006 at 23 weeks, he will be 4 years old very soon, he keeps me on my toes. Wesley was as big as my hand when he was first born (540g 1lb 3oz) and I think from the day he was born, I was in shock. I went into labour on a flight from the West Indies. He was born in East Surrey Hospital, they could not cope with one so small and immediately transferred him to the neonatal unit at St Peters Hospital in Chertsey. We then visited two further hospital NICU units, as he needed two operations, before finally being transferred to Luton NICU in November 2006, which is where we live. Although Wesley was not yet home, he was near, and he spent 7 months on the unit, he went through good days and bad days and sometimes very bad days.

I know that the hospital are going to expand the neonatal unit in 2011 and I decided that I wanted to help by raising money and have got together with another parent to raise money from sponsorship and fund raising events. We recently, held a fashion show in conjunction with Sainsbury's and raised over £500.  So please help us to reach our target of £2,000 by the end of the year, which will be used to help furnish the new neonatal unit at the L and D when it is complete.
