**As I'm only £6 off the minimum I need to raise and have more sponsorship, paintings, a cake sale and quiz to come I thought I'd stretch the target some more. This new one will mean that a whole £2000 with go directly to Rainbows, plus of course all your lovely gift aid!**

Thanks for all your support to date :) Caz.xx

Well I've decided to set myself the challenge of a lifetime and sign up to a trek along the Great Wall of China in aid of Rainbows hospice for children and young people.

China's history has always fascinated me it has such cultural richness and political complexity that I find it truly awe inspiring. As such it has long been on my list of places to visit but that is why I have chosen China as the location of my trek, not why I have committed to a Charity Challenge. This is so much more than a week away in a foreign country, more even than 5 days hiking through mountainous terrain. This is a year long commitment to training to ensure that I'm fit & capable of completing the challenge and to working to raise a significant amount of money for a local charity that changes the lives of families across the East Midlands. This is me trying to make a difference to the lives of the families who rely on the care and support that Rainbows provides.

"Just like everyone else, our children need a place to play, laugh and love life. A place where they and their families are cared for and supported... As the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people, Rainbows is a place where life-limited children and their families can take a break from life’s worries and heartaches. Our incredible team of people helps relieve symptoms, improve quality of life, support parents and siblings through the darkest of bereavements and care for children until the end."

I've set an initial fundraising target of £2000 of which £534 will go towards the cost of the trek, the remaining £1000 of the cost I will be paying. The aim is however to beat this target not just reach it.

Thank you for taking the time to visit this page and for supporting this amazing charity, either through donating directly or by participating in one of my fundraising events. It is truly appreciated.
