I am doing a charity skydive on Saturday April 24th 2010 at Black Knights Parachute Centre in Cockerham near Lancaster!!! I will be jumping from a plane at 14 000 feet. Anybody who knows me will know how I have an extreme fear of heights, so this is a big challenge for me!! Also, it should be a pretty good laugh at the same time :D you are even welcome to join me on the day to watch me, just for comedy value ;)
The two charities I am supporting at the Rosemere Cancer Foundation and The Harris Bursary Fund. I am aiming to raise £400 minimum that will be split between both charities. I will be collecting the donations up front before my skydive, as we need to have it paid in full by February 26th 2010.
The Rosmere Cancer Foundation raises money for cancer patients in the Lancashire and Cumbria area to support the NHS with extra equipment, training and research. I have personally lost three grandparents to cancer, so this charity means a lot to me. Cancer is something that affects one in three people in their lifetime, and even the smallest donation can make a big difference!! To see more about this chairty visit http://www.rosemere.org.uk/
The Harris Bursary Fund was sey up my my university, the University of Central Lancashire, to help fund students who come from backgrounds of extreme financial hardship. Last year it helped sixty one students with book tokens, computer equipment and food vouchers. Everyone is entitled to an education, regardless of their background, and this fund really helpes talented individuals improve their lives through education. More information about this charity can be found here www.uclan.ac.uk/harrisbursaryfund
So please donate for me, even a few pence makes the difference!!! JustGiving is a completely safe way to pay online, but I can also take cheques if you prefer. I need to raise the full £400 before I do the skydive and the deadline is February 26th 2010.
Thank you for all your support!!! No doubt I will be putting some photos up of me on the day, looking very pale and shaking a lot.
