Four brave (and somewhat foolish) colleagues have talked one another into entering this triathlon event which takes place at Dorney Lake near Windsor, one of the 2012 Olympic sites. While we won't be tackling the full Olympic course, none of us has ever attempted a triathlon before so it's set to be quite an experience.
The very good reason we are putting ourselves through this pain is the Build a School Project in Bangalore, India. The school called Snehasadan is a home for underprivileged children who are either orphaned or come from single parent homes. The objective of the project is to break the cycle of poverty and transform the lives of these children by providing sustainable self development, education and skill based training to ensure the children are better equipped to face the world.
