We are delighted to confirm that the Chadney Bulgin Synchronised Hill Climbing Team survived its latest outing and thanks to generous support from very many sponsors managed to raise circa £2,500 (thus far) for the Mitchemp Trust. Overall the teams that took part raised over £11,000 and found out all about the joys of Welsh weather and the Brecon Beacons. We hope that the new image gives a flavour of the day - the good weather on the background slide was on our practice day!
Steve Fleming, Rich Cox, Ian Perren and Mark Robertson have to scale 10 peaks in the Brecon Beacons in just 10 Hours on March 12 2011. 10 hours! Boots are being “run in”, batteries charged. Why on earth are we doing this?? The answer is the Mitchemp Trust, a charity aimed at reaching vulnerable young people and improving their long term prospects. It achieves this by introducing them to a 2 year voluntary outdoor adventure programme, designed to develop confidence and self esteem, and in turn unlock their potential. Not the best time to ask for your sponsorship in these tough times, but we are asking anyway! We have set an overall target of £2000, and with your help, we can do it. We have covered the event costs, so your support will directly benefit young people and their families. May we thank you most sincerely in anticipation of your generosity. Steve, Rich, Ian and Mark.
We would like to thank the Rushmoor Inner Wheel Club for getting our fund raising off to a fantastic start with a pledge of £100 which is 5% of our target for this event.
