My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit Charlie's JustGiving page.

UPDATE:  Thursday 13th January 2011

Dear Everybody,

We can't believe that it has been a year since the Earthquake in Haiti. So much money has been raised and yet, now Haiti has been hit with a secondary horror... Cholera.  All your donations have been invaluable and went towards the immediate aftermath of the earthquake.  Now the people of Haiti still need your help!  So, thank you again, for any continued donations that you might give. We really appreciate it.

Charlie obviously feels very strongly about the events in Haiti, and is trying to think of anyways that he might be able to help, one year on... we'll keep you posted...

All the best

Leonora and Dan Simpson

UPDATE:  Monday 25th January 2010

To be honest, it is hard to know where to even begin thanking you all for your kind words, support and extraordinary generosity.  We could never have dreamed of, or envisaged a response like this.  Our friends and family obviously know how overwhelmed we are but I’m not sure how to convey our appreciation to those of you who we haven’t met before.  I’m just going to say a huge thank you to all of you who have contributed, and to those of you who continue to donate… it couldn’t have been done without you!!!!  THANK YOU!

What I will say is that UNICEF who have been doing such amazing work to help the people, and specifically the children, of Haiti will now be able to do even more to help; thanks to everyone of you.

Many thanks

Leonora and Dan

ORIGINAL MESSAGE:

The Earthquake in Haiti has moved us all and Charlie, who is now 7, has decided that he needs to raise some money to help those affected by the disaster.  In order to do this he has decided to do a Sponsored Bicycle ride around our local park - South Park in Fulham.  He is aiming to complete 7 laps (about 5 miles) of South Park this weekend and is hoping that you will sponsor him so that he can raise money for UNICEF to help with their HAITI disaster appeal.

A note from Charlie:

My name is Charlie Simpson, I want to do a Sponsored Bike Ride for Haiti because there was a big earthquake and loads of people have lost their lives.  I want to make some money to buy food, water and tents for everyone in Haiti.

I am going to cycle around South Park as many times as possible…. (at least 10 laps, I hope!). Please can you sponsor me and all your money will go to UNICEF who are collecting for Haiti.

THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH!

Charlie.
