My Name is Charlotte Maslen, I'm married with two children and I love running! I ran the London Marathon last year and vowed never to do it again, but when George' s Trust asked me to run for George I found myself saying yes!So I'm back to running miles and miles and eating loads and loads and THIS IS THE LAST TIME I'M RUNNING THE LONDON MARATHON!
Please read on as to why I'm running for George.
George O'Brien was a very fit and healthy 17 year old who loved life.He was a keen sportsman and musician and sang in the Romsey Abbey Choir and was loved by everyone who knew him. George died very suddenly as a result of an acute lymphoblastic lymphoma. The aggressive tumour presented no signs and did not stop George from enjoying his life. George's family started the Trust in his memory and one of the objectives is to raise money to support Teenagers and Young Adults suffering from cancer. The Trust, in conjunction with The Teenage Cancer Trust ( TCT) specifically wish to raise funds for a much needed Teenage cancer ward at Southampton General Hospital.
