My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my page.
Myself and other Geography Students from the University of Gloucestershire have joined together to raised money to cover the cost of a dam we will build for a community in the mountians of South Sinai, Egypt in May 2012.
We are visiting the South Sinai as part of our Geography field course and in return for the hospitality offered to us by the Bedouin in Sinai we will leave the lasting legacy of a water retention wall that will help to underpin the livelihoods of the communities there.

The Makhad Trust provides a meeting place ("makhad") in nomadic regions where there is a powerful relationship between the environment and the human spirit. Working through community leaders it sets up projects to assist the economic and social wellbeing of a community whilst seeking to protect their environment and culture.
