On the 1 of November 09 I am running the New York Marathon.
Of all the crazy things I have ever done or thought I could do this is the most insane.When being sold the idea 12 months ago, I thought 40,000 people run the NY marathon, how hard can it be? If they can do it surely I can. What I failed to realise was that these crazy people had given up their normal lives to achieve running the marathon.
Over the last 6 months I have bored everyone stupid including myself with talking about the marathon and my training so you will be pleased to know it’s nearly over. I ask now that you will sponsor me for the good cause I am putting myself through this pain for, The Children Society.
All money I raise goes directly to the Charity, I paid for my travel etc, I need to raise 1,500 pounds for the privilege of entering the race. I have already given 1,000 pounds myself.
Looking forward to finishing the race, I started with high hopes of running certain times, but after running 22 miles in training I will be happy to just finish, I’m looking forward crossing the line and several glasses of wine.
