Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

Here we are again, almost a year on from you guys supporting us and sponsoring us so generously to do the 5K Santa Run for GOSH, and this year we're (foolishly?) doing the 10K. And this time we have some wonderful and dear family and friends joining us, Sue, Woody, Ayesha & Eileen.

We really hope that you'll sponsor us again, and we'd love to tell you a little bit about why GOSH has been and continues to be so special to us.

Running is a new thing for both of us (& any form of exercise that doesn't involve walking to Sainsburys to buy crisps is particularly new to Katherine). But when Tess was diagnosed with a congenital heart condition and referred to GOSH in 2013, everything became frighteningly new to us.

What Tess went through during and after her surgery, and what she'll have to go through again in the future, changed our lives and how we saw the world around us. And in a new and uncertain world, GOSH gave us hope for the future.

We couldn't have imagined that 15 months post surgery, Tess would be the happiest, liveliest, funniest little person we've ever met. And that we would remain thankful every single day for the miraculous surgery and compassionate care she received at GOSH in 2013.

So please do sponsor us, Tess will need GOSH's surgeons, anesthetists, cardiologists & nurse practitioners (to name but a few) throughout her childhood and adolescence. And she is just one among so many who benefit daily from this truly remarkable place.
