My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As you know I completed the Deloitte Ride Across Britain in June 2011. It comprised 950 miles of cycling over 9 days and we climbed 70,000 feet during the ride (3 times the height of Everest). Thanks to the rain and headwinds (upto 30mph gusts) it was very tough but I enjoyed all of it.
In addition to the funds already raised for the Deloitte chosen charity (Paralympics GB) I have decided to raise money for a local Bristol based charity which personally I am very grateful for.
The charity is the Bath based Lifetime Children's Trust which covers Bristol, Somerset, Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire.
The charity helps children with life threatening or long term illnesses and it funds the provision of specialist equipment, facilities and support services to children and families not normally provided by the statutory authorities.
As you will know, Thomas (my youngest son) has a rare breathing condition and Lifetime has been great in providing speciailist and portable monitoring equipment and organising a number of events where we can meet families in a similar situation and get a bit of much needed respite.
The charity relies entirely on donations so I know your generousity will be gratefully received and make an enormous difference to the lifes of many children and families in Bristol and the surrounding area.
Thank you,
Chris
