Hi,

I've finally got round doing the BLUPA Great West Run, this will be on the 21th September 3009.  For someone who usually drives to the corner shop & gets the lift up to the first floor where I work this will be a real challenge for me.

My Charity.

I'll be running for Act4Africa a health education / HIV awareness charity serving local communities in Africa.
Any funds that you can donate would be greatly appreciated and go straight to this most worthy cause.

Why Act4Africa means so much to me.

I visited Africa in 2000 and 2001, the second time with a newly formed Act4Africa, so have seen what an immense difference to people's lives this small but growing charity makes. Nearly ten years on, I am now a Trustee and have seen the charity reach one million lives through health, life-style and AIDS/HIV awareness education in Africa. Now we are setting a more ambitious target .. 5 million in 5 years and that desire to help and serve others (despite personal struggles) really warms my heart towards Act4Africa and the people who are passionate about it's cause.

I also see that they want to continue to grow and make a difference by investing in Training of Trainers (ToT) programmes at ground level, with community teams. The money I raise with your kindness and support will go straight to the heart of African villages & communities; children, mothers and fathers, grandparents, cousins and friends. Some of them I've met, some are my friends too.

Lives will be changed, I personally guarantee it.

So enough waffle from me, I've got to get on with some training (I'll throw in some knuckle press-ups too, just so you don't think I am having it too easy!).
