Last year I planned to run the Virgin London Marathon on behalf of the chairty RAFT but was unable to due to a stress fracture in my tibia (basically shin). After a six month ban from running, physio (thanks Adam and Dave), osteopathy (thanks Pure Dynamic Osteopathy) and being called an idiot by a bone specialist (thank Whittington hospital) I'm back and have been given another opportunity to run and raise money for a noble cause.

If you donated to me last year you don't have to sponsor me again but I will love you forever if you do (I'll probably love you anyway but this way you can guarantee it).

For those of you who have not had the honour of see me naked (viewings can be arranged at a premium to charity) may not be aware that I have extensive third/fourth degree burn scars down the right-hand side of my body as a result of a childhood accident.

The reason I choose RAFT is because it is an independent charity that works to prevent and improve the treatment of major traumas to the skin such as burns. The treatments they develop can be used to limit the damage, and consequently the scarring, caused by burns such as mine. In particular skin replacement research could lower the need for the use of skin grafts such as I had.

Anyway if that isn’t a sufficient pull at the heart strings to get you to open your wallets please bear in mind I know where you live and will heartlessly pursue you like the chugger from hell (chugger = charity mugger for the uneducated) until you have donated to my worth cause.

Thanks in advance

Chris
