Story
Hello and welcome to my just giving page.
As many of you know I have had some life changing things happen to me over the last couple of years. I now view the world very differently to what I did before. It is because of this that I set out to get healthy and fit. I decided to do a triathlon.
Here's my blog if you want to read it: http://howironmanaremade.wordpress.com
I did a super sprint in September last year and got hooked into the sport. My mum jokingly said "you can do an ironman next year". I laughed, but that sank in and here I am. (An Ironman is a swim of 3.8Km followed by a cycle of 180KM and then followed by a marathon which is 42km - all done one after each other)
It takes dedication, commitment and hard work to train for an Ironman. My life has changed (diet, 5am training and early nights) and will continue to do so, until I complete it in July.
I wanted to raise money for a good cause and a charity that mirrors the effort, dedication and commitment that an Ironman takes. I therefore chose Macmillan. EVERYONE is affected or touched by Cancer at some point in their lives and these guys really help support and make life as comfortable as possible. They work extremely hard too, but need to rely on fundraising to keep their great work going.
Please consider the mammoth task that I am undertaking and the great work that Macmillan do and pledge as much as you can - it's so worth it. Plus I promise to put the pictures of me in pain online too!! (that's got to be worth it!!)
