Thanks for taking the time to visit Chris's Big Push page
Chris wants to give something back to the AF Foundation, and so came up with the idea of a sponsored wheelchair push from Alder Hey to Lancashire County Cricket Club

"How do I start to talk about a son who is stronger than I will ever be....he is my hero"
Chris has spent all of his 18 years in and out of Alder Hey since the age of 3 days old. He had a heart operation when he was 2, and bounced back like I’ve never seen a child bounce back - even more full of life to boot. He was also diagnosed with some problems that he has never complained about (do scratch your head, as I really don’t know how he does it!) Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Polyarticular JIA, Osteoporosis, Sleep Apnoea, 30% deaf, Tunnel Vision… Some of these are so bad it would make an adult cry most days ....but not Chris.
Finally can I just tell you all about the day Chris met Andrew and Rachael Flintoff.
Chris was swimming in the pool in the Physio department and was so made up to meet Freddie that he was showing off doing all kinds of exercises that normally would take the Phyiso team ages to get him to do! It’s a fantastic thing to see your son given a boost by someone as nice as Freddie and his wife. He was on a high for about two weeks afterwards, telling everyone he met and he gets so excited when he sees Freddie on TV!
