OK, so somehow I've been blagged into running 10k on a sunday morning...this is not good...I think I need some support

It is for an ace cause which makes me feel a little better....a day-centre for homeless people in East London.

Whitechapel Mission is a day centre dedicated to providing a lifeline to people of London who struggle each day against homelessness, hunger, poverty and exclusion.

The day-centre provides hot food and drink, showers, clothing, free toilets and the chance of a wash and brush-up.

It is open 365 days of the year: doors open at 6am, and they are open to anybody that walks through, without exception.

Daily running costs are around £1500. Through the generosity of businesses and people like you we manage to provide this lifeline that is crucial for some of London's most marginalised people. This is the one main fundraising event of the year and provides a substantial chunk of our funding, so please help out in whatever way you can.

With such a good cause to run for however, it seems there is a decided lack of silliness in this mission. Therefore i feel it is extremely important that I run 10k in a ridiculous costume. This is the only way I feel i can really guarantee a bone fide 'silly mission'.

So far people have suggested drag as the silliest dress option for a 10k run...heels and all. This sounds about as fun as a rainy welsh weekend watching re-runs of songs of praise, while alan titchmarsh himself regales me with hilarious anecdotes and glorious details of his time spent as 'Gordon the Garden Gnome'. Please don't let it come to this. I need some inspirational costume ideas!

What to do now?

Click "Donate Now", spare a bit of cash for a good cause, and if you have any great outfit ideas, write them in the message box!

Once you've done that remember to check out

to see the ridiculous amount of work that goes into providing this lifeline to some of London's most excluded people.

Thanks guys, from all here at Whitechapel
